Today was the first day my oil painting students got to paint! We painted from a still life of white objects, focusing on capturing value.
Using some tricks I learned from Kristen, I did my first the paintings from the graphed photo on my iPhone (and used valued finder too). I did this mainly because I was in the back of the class. Finally at the end of the day, not felling happy with my first 3 attempts-I put away the phone and tools and really concentrated on painting from life. The first painting is the best and final (and longest time invested).
The next painting is all of the attempts from today. (20,10,10,35 minutes)
